Doug Cockle Reveals The Witcher 4 Protagonist

Doug Cockle, the only voice actor for Geralt of Rivia, revealed two major details about The Witcher 4. The first is that Geralt will have some role in the game; however, he later clarified that the exact amount is unknown. Considering the events of Blood and Wine's conclusion, he may play a similar role to Vesemir. However, the Geralt of Rivia is likely becoming less involved in Witcher-related activity in The Witcher 4.

Since Doug Cockle has already said that Geralt would not be the focus of the next Witcher, this also implies that we will be introduced to a new protagonist. Additionally, he said he is unsure about the protagonist, although Ciri seems the most likely choice.

Having trained her, Geralt plays a significant role in the Witcher canon ending, and she appeared as a playable character in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt You may take Ciri and Geralt in very different directions based on your decisions; thus, the only unanswered issue is how the next game will deal with the third game's finale. 

It seems like The Witcher 4's plot will take off when Ciri becomes a Witcher, which is probably the canon conclusion. However, I must admit that Ciri's position as heir to Nilfgaard also seems intriguing. And there's also been an update on The Witcher Remake's release date and what we can expect from the game.
